The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered unprecedented social and economic distress, especially to migrant and informal workers. The onset of the stringent national lockdowns has led to a steep increase in domestic violence cases as reported by the National Commission for Women (NCW). Similarly, the pandemic has severely impacted the livelihood, security, and health of migrant workers in the village of Pandvala Kalan. The post-pandemic present demands deeper positive impacts and efforts for these women and children. For these attainments, URJA plans to help migrant and vulnerable women to lead a violence-free life of dignity by initiating a Vocational Training Centre (VTC) for approximately 100 women in two villages, Pandvala Kalan and Jaffarpur Kalan. The chosen villages witnessed a sharp rise in domestic violence complaints during the coronavirus outbreak. To achieve our objective, we would like to initiate a fundraiser to give the women of these villages a step towards financial independence, help them resist violence and take a stand for themselves. We hope to reach out to you to join us in our climb towards a better world. Support us at: http://www.urjaforwomen.org/about/ #urjaforwomen #theytoo #fundraisingforacause
