About Me

The Igati Community is a Christ-centered movement founded in Meru County in 2023 by local social entrepreneurs, inspired by Matthew 5:13 to be the salt and light of the world. “Igati,” meaning salt in Kimeru, symbolizes our mission to fight poverty through spiritual empowerment, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable innovation. Rooted in biblical principles, we harness individual gifts and talents to drive community transformation. Our work spans Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Nyeri, and Laikipia counties, offering training, mentorship, market access, and empowerment opportunities. Our values spiritual integrity, innovation, hard work, inclusivity, and service guide us in addressing poverty, inequality, climate challenges, and social injustice. Through collaboration and faith, we equip individuals to overcome adversity and build resilient futures.
