Need help with
As of September 2023, India experienced extreme weather events like coldwaves, heatwaves, floods and others for 235 days. This qualifies for over 86% of the days being subjected to devastating climate emergencies. This is just the beginning. According to IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports, extreme weather will become increasingly intense and frequent. The damage done to our ecosystems will be irreversible. We are in a race against time to reverse the impact of climate change. For this, we need to protect planet Earth. What do we need to protect our home? A Climate Change Act that will integrate different laws and policies to protect its biodiversity and its people. The Climate Change Act should ensure the following: Ensure clear targets and set timelines to achieve just legally binding energy transitions Adequate provisions for adapting to the impacts of climate change and building resilience among vulnerable communities. Include mechanisms to hold polluting corporations accountable. Our survival depends on it.
