On this day, 12 years after the conflict began, we honor and remember those Syrians who have been lost and those victims of war, bombardment, gas attacks, drought, famine, multiple displacements, sickness, injury and now... a catastrophic natural disaster. The past 12 years have tested families beyond the imaginable, and over and over they emerge, with resiliance and hope.
