@Maggiestourcompany first began working for a local safari company in 2008, in Tanzania. She was one of the very first woman guides in the Country. As of 2018 she is one of only 5 female driver guides in the country. She was motivated by the conditions and encounters she had while working as a guide as well as growing up that prompted her to create the Dare Womenā€™s Foundation in 2013 after 8 years of work. The NGO works to empower Tanzania women and girls with its focus on rural areas, through poverty alleviation, social justice, economic empowerment and gender equality. Maggie believes in 4 pillars of life, gratitude, love, abundance and compassion. She along with the professors and students she has worked with are committed to making a difference in society. Her work has been widely recognised and she was invited to speak at the 66th Conference on World Affairs in Boulder Colorado in 2013 and was again chosen to speak there in 2018. @TheDareWomensFoundation also provides conservation training to community and local schools with the aim to improve relations between people and their environment.
